Dr. Kathleen Kelava – Support for High-Conflict Parenting & Family Challenges
When separation, co-parenting, or family conflict becomes intense, clarity and practical direction matter. I work with parents who need structured, effective support—whether or not they are involved in court.
How I Can Help
- High-Conflict Co-Parenting Support. Structured guidance to reduce conflict, protect children, and create more workable parenting arrangements.
- Parent-Child Contact Problems. Assessment and intervention when a child is resisting or refusing contact with a parent.
- Court-Involved Matters (Practice Notes 7 & 8). When appointed by the Court, I conduct focused assessments and interventions aimed at practical recommendations.
- Clarity When Things Feel Stuck. Diagnostic clarification and direct feedback for parents who have tried therapy or other supports without enough progress.
My Approach
Direct. Structured. Focused on what is actually happening and what needs to change. I bring both clinical training and real-world experience in high-stakes, high-conflict situations (including prior work as a Calgary Police Service officer).
What to Expect
- Clear process and communication
- Practical recommendations rather than open-ended discussion
- Virtual sessions available for many services
- Timely written summaries/reports as requested/required
