Registered Psychologist (#4818); BComm, MC, PhD
I’ve been described by a highly intelligent and discerning client, who had extensive experience in the counselling and assessment milieu (including forensic), as “the most direct clinician” he had ever worked with. I’ve also had a fantastic practicum student state, after joining me for and observing several months’ worth of clinical work, “I can see why people come back.” I have had people I’ve arrested thank me for doing so and for positively impacting their lives as a result. Tough people and tough work get results that matter and last.
I have an extremely well-honed ability to connect with others, to cut through the murk, and to identify the core thing that is actually going on (and, therefore, the core thing that will actually work to effect positive change for clients and families). My job and the people I work with are extremely important to me – this is why I will not sit and watch my clients remain stuck, when I know they can and will do better. A skilled clinician can be the catalyst to help jolt that inflection point onto a more skillful, effective, and authentic path. I’m not scared to go there and I like to model that courage for and with my clients.
